I booked a table for myself and my partner at this new Wine and Tapas bar for last Friday. I was told that on weekends they only do sittings and could choose either the 6 - 9 sitting or the 9 to close. I chose the earlier.

It is in the place of what I believe was called Sophies restaurant, which I never got to try before it closed. The renovation has modernised the interior with big leather cafe style sofas along the wall. Although they have kept the exposed brickwork. The only complaint I had of the interior is that the tables are very close together, which isn't ideal when you are ordering a number of dishes.

Onto the food.....

We ordered 8 different bits, which were as follows: Garlic bread, calimari, whitebait, lamb stew, pork kebabs, Flamiquin (cheese wrapped in serrano ham and breadcrumb), baby mushroom in white wine and garlic and a platter of serrano ham. All were extremely good and the portions were not shabby.

To drink I went for good old San Miguel, whilst my partner had one of the cocktails which was like a sorbet and very impressive.

The service was good and it was very reasonably priced, the dishes, cocktail and 3 San Miguels came to just shy of £40. I will definately be going back.

My wife and I sat down at one of their outside tables, about 2.30pm on a recent weekday. We ordered wine and some tapas. The wine arrived after about ten minutes, and was quickly followed by another member of staff who brusquely informed us that we would have to move inside, since they had a reservation for that table.

Instead we left, and will not be going back, nor would I recommend it to others.
